Shirley Elizabeth Barnes -- President, Board of Directors. Ambassador Barnes is a retired Career Foreign Service Officer.  Her assignments included U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Madagascar and U.S. Consul General in Strasbourg, France.  In private industry, she was vice president at several major advertising agencies in New York City.  In the non-profit world, she was a Program Assistant with the Ford Foundation in Congo-Kinshasa, and was with the Women's Africa Committee of the African-American Institute in New York City.  She holds a BBA from Baruch College/CUNY, MBA from Columbia University and an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois. 

 

Baunita Greer - Board Member.  Ms. Greer is a Wall Street consultant.  She served in top executive positions in the financial industry, including President of Cromwell Miller & Greer, Inc., an equity research and securities brokerage firm she founded in 1993.  She was a Principal with B. Pierce & Co., Inc.  Ms. Greer served as a Board Member of the New York Society of Security Analysts for eight years.  Ms. Greer has a BSBA degree from American University, Washington DC. 

 

Benita Pierce - Board Member.  Ms. Pierce is President and CEO of B. Pierce & Co., Inc., a securities brokerage firm.  She has thirty years of experience that spans both the national and international business world, including Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc.  She is a Principal with the SEC and the NASD, has an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, and is actively involved in philanthropic and political affairs.  Appointed by Frank Zarb, President and Chair of the NASD, she serves as a member of its national Small Firm Advisory Committee.
